A kasa-obake is a type of tsukumogami in Japanese folklore, objects that come to life after serving humans for a hundred years. It is usually depicted as a living paper umbrella with one large eye in the center, a long tongue and one leg wearing a wooden sandal. A kasa obake is playful, more mischievous than menacing.
