Sashiko hand-stitched tea towels
Pickup currently unavailable
Sashiko, a traditional needlework technique that originated in Japan rural communities as a way to mend and reinforce old clothing and household textiles. Over time, it evolved into a respectful decorative stitching that celebrates the spirit of repair and imperfection.
This collection is designed by Tomoko Teshima, who fell in love with the charm of Sashiko needlework. Each piece reflects her dedication to Japanese craftsmanship and the quiet joy of making things by hand.
Each tea towel is made from Sarashi 100% cotton and measure at 13” x 12.5”.
These versatile cloths are perfect for drying kitchenware, covering baked goods, holding warm pots, or even wrapping gifts. The hand-stitched Sashiko patterns add a comforting, homely touch to any space.
Care Instructions: Hand wash or machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Line dry or tumble dry on low. Iron if needed on medium heat. With proper care, the stitching will soften and become even more beautiful over time.
