Kulim Oil
Pickup currently unavailable
Kulim is a wild fruit shaped like nut known by a variety of names - Bawang Hutan or Jungle Garlic, Sagan Berauh, and its scientific name, Scorodocarpus borneensis Becc.It grows natively in Southeast Asia. In Malaysia, Kulim fruit is most commonly used by local ethnic groups "orang asli" as staple ingredient in their cooking.
Kulim has a bold and rich aroma like truffle and garlic, some said it reminds them of earthy notes like shiitake mushrooms. We wish to bring this forgotten fruit back to the palate of modern Malaysian cuisine, and to share with the rest of the world too. Drizzle it over salads, trickle it over your soups or even add a splash to the pan when you finish up a stir fry. It's a luxurious alternative to olive oil .
