The Malam Lurik Skirt is a design from Senja Sore's collection, Nala, inspired by the heart, with its blood-red color symbolizing love and passion. The collection was designed to evoke deep passionate emotions and a sense of connection amongst individuals.

Lurik fabric from Yogyakarta carries deep symbolic meaning in various traditional ceremonies and rituals. This simple striped fabric is more than just clothing—it represents humility, resilience, and spiritual values. Some key ceremonial uses include:

1. Siraman (Purification Ritual) – Before a Javanese wedding, the bride and groom undergo a cleansing ritual, often with family members wearing lurik as a symbol of purity and simplicity.

2. Traditional Javanese Weddings – Lurik is sometimes worn by the groom during the midodareni ritual or by royal attendants (abdi dalem).

3. Sekaten Festival – An annual celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth, where palace courtiers and participants often wear lurik during processions.

4. Labuhan Ritual – An offering ceremony to the sea or mountains to honor mystical guardians, where ritual leaders may wear lurik.

5. Abdi Dalem Inauguration – New palace courtiers (abdi dalem) wear lurik as a symbol of devotion and humility when being officially inducted into the royal service.
